Config Tool

In the context of user administration, the Config Tool is used to adjust data sources
and to maintain specific properties of the UME. It is only possible to maintain this
data in the Configuration Editor mode. You can change the UME configuration and
property files in this mode

UME

The UME provides a browser-based administration interface. You can access this from the home page of the SAP Web Application Server Java (http://<server name>:<port>/useradmin.You can perform the following actions there:

• Administration of users
• Administration of groups
• Administration of roles
• Manual replication
• Import/export of users, groups, roles

You can always use the UME console for user administration and assigning authorizations if the UME uses a directory service or a database as the data source. If you have selected ABAP user management as the data source for the UME, users can only be administered using the relevant transactions in the SAP ABAP system. In this case (data source: ABAP management), you can only assign Java authorizations using the UME console or the Visual Administrator

ABAP user management is done using SU01 / PFCG
